It's been decided that:
1. This is not woth the effort on our part or the user's part. It does not provide a significant performance boost. The only significant boosts are i386 to i586 (we already provide i586 as deafault) and i586 to i686mmx for multimedia applications.
2. When it helps, the i686mmx libraries are or will be included where it helps and where it is possible. This is already done for X and glibc at least, and I've already fixed mjpegtools in the same way.
So I don't think anyone is going to see this option.
* A working MS-DOS emulator.
YES!
* Falling-off-a-log-easy WINE, with useful help on getting Windows apps to work under WINE (even if this is a link to an internet site, good general help for getting things working should be available, both in the form of a newbie recipe set and a more terse and technical FAQ-type document tree).
Maybe WineX will be a little more mature by 9.2.
