[I checked this in bugzilla and found no bugs for whois, I lost some days of traffic last week and apologize if someone already reported this]

The version of whois in 9.1 doesn't work with .org since the switchover to PIR. Well, it works but the whois server has to be specified on the command line and it's not easy since it has a looooong name: whois.publicinterestregistry.net, and then it doesn't follow the referral and the query has to be repeated to the registry that really registered the domain.
Version 4.6.3 solves the problem http://www.linux.it/~md/software/whois_4.6.3.tar.gz
and it's a drop in replacement in the srpm

Bye
