I also have experienced the same problem in 8.0 and up (prior to that the card was not 
supported).  The card I have is in a Compaq presario 1600 xl laptop and identifies 
itself as 
a Trident Cyberblade i1 agp integrated video adapter.  with the version of X included 
with 9.1 
it gets worse.  The problem only exists when a a program attempts to use the card in 
fullscreen mode.  If you leave everything windowed, the problem is never seen.

There is problem with video playback using the Trident driver.  In both movies
and video games the video-signal becomes split in half (with two mirrored
images), and there are a lot of remnants on the screen.  If I switch to VESA or
an older trident driver the video playback works, but it's a LOT more jumpy than
it was in 9.0 (which worked beautifully).
