------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-04-05 15:26 ------- Created an attachment (id=434) --> (http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/attachment.cgi?id=434&action=view) patch for Config.in and Makefile that shows SIS-DRM again ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: I own a laptop based on the SIS630 chipset (PIII) that has a 3D-accelerated SIS300/310/315 gpu. During installation, the mdk installer tells me that 3D-acceleration is supported for this card in mandrake, yet it isn't. There are 2 reasons for this: 1) The current kernel lacks the SIS-DRM option, that afaik was present up to kernel 2.4.20. 2) The installer uses vesafb instead of sisfb, but thats another story (and another bugreport). As far as 1) is concerned, the SIS-code itself is present in drivers/char/drm but both Makefile and Config.in don't include it, no idea why. I attach a patch for drivers/char/drm/Config.in and drivers/char/drm/Makefile that makes SIS DRM selectable again.
