Buchan,

With all this cool hardware available, I'm wondering if slbd can be
adapted to work in a distributed manner --> let all these machines
spread over the Internet do rebuilding, in a semi-clustered manner.
Would be cool.

I think it would also be cool to see if it's possible to do some automated testing, if we have enough machines that they sit idle for no reason ...

Good idea!

But, we might be getting to the point where we actually need a cooker
extranet. For example, I would like to be able to remove build output on
an automated build host to get a package rebuilt, but we wouldn't want
anyone to be able to remove build output ...

That can be handled...

I guess it should be possible to make a php application that can handle this....

Or enable webdav and let people remove the file from the buildoutput directory for a rebuild. Or upload a new src.rpm they want tested to the /mirrors/new_i586_cooker/SRPMS/ directory. Why not?

Would be cool if eventually the upload process would use this --> input = src.rpm, output = binary rpms for all archs, produced by a cluster of rebuild boxen. Sounds like a wet dream... oeps.

Stefan
