The easiest thing is to make a HD install ! Instead of generating CDs, just make a mirror of the cooker distribution on your hard drive (I use also the contribs), in a separate partition than the install partition (on my machine, I have two partitions, one with / and one with /home where I put the mirror of cooker. Then, just write a boot CD with hd.img in /images of the distribution root (I use mkisofs and cdrecord for that). Then boot with that CD, it will ask you where the distribution root is located. Choose the partition number, and then give the path to cooker, and it will install.
Is the distrib install system working now (already mentioned the ldconfig problem ) ?
