           Product: Installation
         Component: Installation
Summary: mouse position should not determine input focus
           Product: Installation
           Version: 1.810
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Installation
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

During the install process, a PS/2 wheel mouse has the occasional tendency to
get "lost" and stick in the corner of the screen. Yet the mouse cursor must be
over the white area that contains the input fields and navigation buttons those
inputs to gain focus.

Thus, when the cursor is stuck in a corner it's impossible to use the keyboard
-- either to navigate in the install process or to input text in the fields.

This effectively means that the user has to abort the install. It's especially
aggravating in a network install after *almost* getting to the end and not being
able to install the bootloader.

I know that desktop environments offer the option to disable automatic window
focus. I'm not sure what it would take in the installer, but I think it would be
a huge benefit if the focus always stayed on the central white area (especially
since there are no other obvious window elements).
