I've updated the rpm -devel package dependency document (http://eijk.homelinux.org/~stefan/rpm_devel_dependencies.html <http://eijk.homelinux.org/%7Estefan/rpm_devel_dependencies.html>).
Changes:
2003/06/16 v0.7 <http://eijk.homelinux.org/%7Estefan/rpm_devel_dependencies_v0.7.html>
* suggest to change Provides & Requires from ".so" to ".dso" to make
a clear destinction between these dependencies and other .so
dependencies;
* updated scripts;I know the impact of changing the -devel dependencies from ".so" to ".dso" is rebuilding _many_ packages, again. But on the long run, I think the reduced confusion will be worth it. If we do do this, it needs to be done before 9.2, as putting ".so" dependencies into a product, when we are migrating to ".dso" will make product support more difficult.
The issue that triggered me to consider this was: http://archives.mandrakelinux.com/cooker/2003-06/msg00838.php
