No, this is unrelated, and a known issue. I guess it should get a bug
report to make people happy.

(thus far unaffected by devfsd and kernel, since I run the stable
release kernel and my mirror is probably behind on devfsd :-/, but have
changed to using kdm instead of mdkkdm).
