No, but at 10k it isn't exactly going to increase the rescue image much, especially since it is statically linked (so it won't pull in any other libraries). But, the issue isn't only which editor, but how users find it. If I think back to the first time I had linux up and running, without X (ahh, back with RH5.2 ...), the commands I tried in order were something like: help (not very useful to get the bash help compared to the help from dos/Windows) edit x dir win xwin Xwin setup So, how about aliasing edit to the editor of choice in rescue mode? (BTW, freebsd's default motd is a good idea ... something that could be implemented and save a lot of newbies a lot of time) Regards, Buchan - -- |--------------Another happy Mandrake Club member--------------| Buchan Milne Mechanical Engineer, Network Manager Cellphone * Work +27 82 472 2231 * +27 21 8828820x202 Stellenbosch Automotive Engineering http://www.cae.co.za GPG Key http://ranger.dnsalias.com/bgmilne.asc 1024D/60D204A7 2919 E232 5610 A038 87B1 72D6 AC92 BA50 60D2 04A7 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQE/AUngrJK6UGDSBKcRAofUAJ9zr/Q6JUbkvLwG2bRQUkMF7qroBgCeLOFS hdydXcxXzwMZy7iRRYcJS8c= =fa7S -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ****************************************************************** Please click on http://www.cae.co.za/disclaimer.htm to read our e-mail disclaimer or send an e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] for a copy. ******************************************************************
