description:
9.1 Beta 2 - My primary hard drive (hda) has 9 partitions- hda5 is /, hda6 is
swap, hda7 is /usr, hda8 is /home, hda9 is BeOs. I'm using Windows XP Boot
Manager to select which OS to boot. [I want Mandrake to install grub on hda5,
then I do a dd to copy 512 bytes to a file which the XP Boot Manager can use.]

I tell the installer to use Grub and write it to hda5. It notices my boot
manager and asks which disk I boot from. (hda or hde) It then proceeds to
overwrite my XP Boot Manager with Grub. hda5 meanwhile, has LILO installed on
it. It completely skips the step of creating a boot floppy disk. (That's 3
incorrect actions!)

Boot with CD1, go into rescue mode, select restore Windows boot information.
Remove CD, reboot box, and Grub is still the first thing I see! [Rescue failed
to restore the boot sector!]
