description:
On my thinkpad 1400i 9.1rc1 won't install. I went to the logs screen and
watched it, and it always locked up on "modprobe usb_ohci", when entering stage
2 and tried to load the ramdisk. I went into my laptop bios and turned off usb,
when I rebooted from the cd it went right through. I'm convinced after about 4
hours (or more) of testing that it's the USB. It halted every time at the same
point, when usb was enabled. This laptop once upon a time ran 8.1, although I
just had some repairs done, so I don't know if usb was enabled when I installed
it last time. :-/
I did however have a copy of 9.0 (big drake fan every release since the
single-disk 7.0 that came in maximum linux some years ago), and it halted at the
same place. So I'm not so sure it's directly related to the beta. I did
install RC then _after_ the install was finished modprobe usb_ohci myself and
the interface came up without any problems. So it's jsut during the install.
