description:
For Linux, Mandrake or others to become acceptable as a desktop system,
removable media should be made easier to use. Supermount, though a step in the
right direction, is still too cumbursome. For one thing, removable media should
show up as icons in the root filesystem (Windows like) in addition to the
desktop(Mac. like). If the KDE desktop icons were to work as they do in a
Macintosh, it would be great. Right now, I can drag a file to the floppy icon on
the desktop and nothing happens.
Preferred action:
If there is a floppy disk in the drive, the action should be to copy the dragged
file to the floppy by automatically mounting it. If there is no disk, a box
asking for a floppy to be inserted should be shown.
