2.4.21-2 and gcc3.3

select P4 as processor cause an automatic reboot
select i586 cause a kernel panic...

standard 2.4.21-2 does work fine (but I need ot recompile for ACPI
issues at least)

well I am back to my 2.4.21-16mdkcustom (old numbering way)

and the new alpha release of VMWare do compile well with gcc3.3 despite
the warning message
