A reboot is a very bad indication IMHO (and could substantially increase boot time for all users, regardless of whether they use 3rd-party software or not). Also, I don't know if it is feasible to determine which menu entries should be ported to the menu (ie /usr/lib/menu) format, since packages provide menus for native use by the desktops when not using the Mandrake menus. > Or maybe have MenuDrake do this when it is used? It may be feasible to have menudrake be able to import new menus, but this really should be done with user interaction. A commandline version exists, in kdedesktop2mdkmenu.pl, but some user input is required. The ultimate solution is all desktops supporting the same menu spec, until then, 3rd-party software will never integrate totally with all desktops. Regards, Buchan
