I guessed this was relevant for the developer list, since kernel developers
might read it.
I could also contact the kernel developer directly, but I thought this may
interest all people here, especially since Danny's kernels have already been
mentioned here.

Thanks for the tips, but I can assure you I did not update urpmi (nor
anything else). I just compared on the exact same machine the behaviour of
the kernel 18mdk (the official updated one), and the 17/22mdk (Danny's
kernels, multimedia and ACL) and I can reproduce this behaviour by booting
between both kernels.
