So most probably newer version of urpmi did > fix this problem by not probing media now. Thanks for the tips, but I can assure you I did not update urpmi (nor anything else). I just compared on the exact same machine the behaviour of the kernel 18mdk (the official updated one), and the 17/22mdk (Danny's kernels, multimedia and ACL) and I can reproduce this behaviour by booting between both kernels.
