According to http://www.gnome.org/softwaremap/projects/ggv/ and
http://www.gnu.org/directory/print/postscript/ggv.html and ggv user manual, ggv
still supports pdf rendering. How can you claim it no longer supports it ?
However, this bug seems to be resolved, it should be marked as fixed.

It seems that there is a problem with the rendering of ggv in the gnome 2.0
series . The same pdf is rendered passibly by both gv and xpdf but ggv's
rendering is almost illegible. This seems to be a font aa problem of some sort.
