Hmmm, a recently compiled samba3 also does not work:

beta1.3mdk was compiled on Jun 10, beta2.2 on Jul 2, but my
/var/log/rpmpkgs* does not go far back enough to tell me what compiler I
had on Jun 10 ... (but likely either 3.3-1mdk or 3.2.3-mdk).
There is also some other breakage in samba-2.2.8a-6mdk, smbpasswd won't
join a domain ...
Luckily, I have a cooker box here that is a bit behind, and still has
gcc-3.3-2mdk ... and a samba-2.2.8a-6mdk rebuilt on this machine
smbmount's and joins domains via smbpasswd just fine.
Gwenole, I have no idea where to start looking (besudes gcc somwhere
between 3.3-2mdk and 3.3.1-0.2mdk), all samba releases involved build
fine (except on klama), without any obvious errors, but have these
issues, and I don't think it's wise to ship a snapshot in this
condition, firstly I am going to be swamped with duplicate samba bugs
all over, and secondly, you're going to be swamped with gcc bug reports ....
BTW (for Warly), samba-3.0.0beta3 is due out very soon, and no recent
samba3 release builds on klama (still!!). Where should I build now
(assuming we can get it to work as well)?
