IIRC , it need a kernel module, to access the memory of the card. Which was not ported to 2.4, and has some problem with devfsd. And which is not present with the kernel. And, also, a special mesa is required, compiled with glide. And, worst, it is a pain to compile on a recent system ( buggy makefile, csh script ). I am only talking for glide2, because glide3 work with ./configure ; make ;make install. -- Micka�l Scherer
