Current cooker kernel has support for v3 bootsplash AFAIK (I don't run cooker kernel though). But AFAIK Warly hasn't actually gotten around to updating the bootsplash package itself. So, I would suggest you start working on a theme, assuming it will work, and maybe make them available to cookers for contributions. It might be an idea to start with a lilo theme, so cookers can give feedback sooner (or just post the images somewhere). Warly, what needs to be done for the new bootsplash? BTW, you may want to start a new topic on the Wiki for this so you can add links etc and keep the up-to-date. If you don't have a Wiki account, or need help, let me know ...
