All I received were the .Xauthority file messages, there was no flicker to VC7 (I checked it and nothing was started on it) it just sat at the CLI and did not drop me back to console or give out any errors. I had to ctrl-c to end the attempt. This happened both with the default nv driver for my Geforce4 ti4200, and after installing the nvidia drivers (which required setting IGNORE_CC_MISMATCH to true). I was unable to find any error messages to give a clue as to what the problem might be.
