Exactly the same in French, where accentuated characters or other special ones (c c�dille) appear like "?"this is odd, for two weeks or so the bootmessages are in German alright but they show question marks instead of umlauts. Also the qotes, like in press"I" for interactive startup, show as >>I<< intstead of "I".
where do I start looking for the cause?
