------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-24-07 20:38 -------
Please note that the 'domainname' command is meant to return the NIS domain
name, not the domain part of the FQDN (that is what dnsdomainname does). See the
man page for 'domainname' for more information on the difference. If you want
the NIS functions to work, use the "advanced" button in the screen where you set
the root password during installation (and hope the tool becomes available after
installation in the future).
As such, I believe this bug is invalid.
I have tested the output of dnsdomainname on my own machine running cooker
against a ISC DHCP3 server, and it is correct. If you find different, reopen.

description:
dhcp-client-3.0-2pl2.5mdk
as supplied with Mandrake 9.1
Since rc2 dhcp sets correctly the domain name as supplied by dhcp server in the
search fields in resolf.conf but
domainname command returns (none)
It's not a problem of the dhcp server - guaranteed. Tested on two different domains
and
it used to work fine on the same machine under LM8.0 with the same servers.
