when i play with minimal instalation of mandrake, i'v found that lubuser1 package is mandatory and it is inherit from other packages which is required basesystem.
libuser1 package contain a shared module /usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/libusermodule.so and this is reason why python-base is required for minimalistic installation: python-base >= 2.2 is needed by libuser1-0.51.7-5mdk and python-base required for example libstdc++ and others packages.. what about remove this one shared module from libuser1 package, or create something like libuser1-python? i think, that this can lead to minimalize basic installation and i think, that python (and libusermodule.so) isn't needed for minimal mandrake installation. -- member of Advanced InternetWorks group -> http://www.ainetworks.sk professional home page -> http://tibor.pittich.sk personal home page -> http://c0re.phuture.sk
