How are you using a win modem? I thought I remmebr reading somewhere int he
kernel that "Winmodem Support: NEVER" or something to that extent.

I am also experiencing problems with a Lucent Winmodem and 2.2.15. When I
attempt to dial, it says there is no dial tone, yet it initializes fine.
