Dave, there is Voodoo2 support ( I played Quake2/Quake3 for quite a bit
before selling the card ), but its with older versions of Glide and via the
Mesa libraries.

There is no Voodoo 2 support in linux that I know of. I inherited one
awhile back from a friend (I helped upgrade him to a newer card). I figured
I'd toss it in my desktop and noticed all this bizzare stuff... like 2
video ports and a tiny little IDE looking cable. No need for that crap,
instructions are for sissies! So I promptly pulled out my video card, put
in the Voodoo 2 and tried to boot thinking the second video port was
obiously spare parts or something. beep beep beep flatline... hrmm...
needless to say it took me 1 hour to figure out what would have taken 10
secs if I had looked at the manual. Got it installed and working on my
windows partition. Fired up a game or two, was impressed. Booted over to
linux and searched the 4 corners of the internet looking for the drivers
only to finally come accross a few newsgroup postings about how it is
unsupported on linux.

Since I bought a Voodoo 3 and love it to death. The 2D accelleration kicks
ass in gnome/enlightenment. I can turn on the zaney effects like "drag
window transparency" or "Fly in" and there's no flicker or pauses. (And the
Voodoo 3 was put it in the computer and turn it on install for linux, and a
plug it in turn it on, find a windows cd, put in the voodoo cd, reboot
reboot)
