------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-27-07 18:25 ------- Verified... merely selecting imap hangs the install. Then, there is no obvious way to reboot the system that cleanly unmounts the partitions forcing a check. This time, my ethernet would not come up properly, needed a 2nd reboot to fix as "ifconfig eth0 down" would not work either. 2 tries -> 2 hangs -> 2 post-install-attempt reboots per try... and in the past, I've been told repeatedly that I should have installed instead of upgraded... right... :P Q: Can't package selection be tested for basic select/unselect functionality prior to release? -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: 9.2b1 Chose install, selected groups and individual package selection. I find it easier to select packages from the bottom up... got to imap (need pop), clicked on the left edge of the checkbox and install hung with watch cursor. No messages or other apparent problems on any VCs... When I tried to reboot, used C+A+Bkspc to exit X and C+A+Del which resulted in all filesystems "not cleanly unmounted" and check forced (all ext3) -- OK... wait for reboot... (rest not cooker; but it scared the crap outta me, so...) login rejected in kdm, switched to VCs; typing any userid just reset the screen as if Ctrl+L had been issued; no password prompt. C+A+Del reboot and I'm back -- nearly gave me another heart attack! :P Not sure I want to retry 9.2b1 install... but I probably have to if no-one else sees this potentially show-stopper install hang...
