In kcontrol, go to looknfeel->background. Go to the wallpaper tab. Click on the
browse button. In the pop-up window, select any wallpaper. If "Automatic
Preview" is enabled, the preview of the wallpaper should show up but it does
not. Clicking on the preview button does not help either. So image preview does
not work currently.
BTW, in looknfeel->behavior, previews for images is enabled.
