It appears to me that the bug is in drakboot.  As long as I enable autologin in
kde, logout options are presented as per info set in kde convenience options.
Don't need line Steffen offered. Variable is set already (echo $XDM_MANAGED). 
However if, thru Mandrake Control Center, Boot Options, Drakboot, you set auto
login, on first logout after a boot you get only the logout option explained above.

With Autologin enabled, when I exit KDE I am only presented with an option to
Logout. I have to log out before I can shut down the machine.

It autologin is disabled, the Shutdown and Reboot options re-appear when I press
the Exit button (bottom right of screen).

I would really like to be able to shutdown the machine directly from KDE.

Security level is at "High".
