I'm also getting this problem. All works OK if I only start khelpcenter and
browse it from there. But if I try to start it from another KDE app using "Help
> * Handbook" (or using the above command in console) the window appears for a
moment (without any content) and ten it just closes. If I start it from the
Konsole I get errors like this:
kdecore (KAction): KActionCollection::endXMLPlug(): this = 0x8190410
ERROR: Communication problem with khelpcenter, it probably crashed.

hi,
when I use khelpcenter to read kde docs, sometimes it crashes (specially with
urls like help:/[...]/index.html)
for example:
khelpcenter help:/konqueror/index.html
or simply open konqueror, and choose "konqueror handbook" in "help" menu.
