so in this case, the question is why is bttv loaded and can this be avoided. is it hotplug, devfs, or harddrake is asuming this is normal TV card or there is also a standard bttv card in the PC, in which case may be the user should try bttv9, updated bttv drivers, or the DVB card should be black listed somewere in the bttv source. best, svetljo
