Not all users use dialup (consider a machine in a networked office), and I don't
see why everyone needs the bloat of pppd etc etc, especially since if you
configure a dialup connection from the Mandrake Control Center (and possibly
during installation, haven't tested recently) and you have KDE installed, it
will install kdenetwork-kppp for you.
The whole point of splitting kppp off into a subpackage was to prevent what you
are wanting.

Would you please include the kdenetwork-kppp as part of the base kde install?
Most people I know go back and add it anyway. And it seems odd that the KDE
dialer program isn't available (and most newbies, the first thing they want to
do is dial up).
