I didn't really observe any "crazy" behavior driven by the missing user 
account.  I removed using userdel, and drakbackup still tries to backup the 
home dir of the missing user.  Even with the home dir deleted, all I noted was 
a couple of gripes from find and tar, but the backup still executed.  
Nonetheless, I added a check now after reading the config file, that all users 
in the configuration still exist, and if they don't the config is altered and 
and logged in /var/log/messages.  Fixed in CVS.

There is no way to remove the backup setting in drakbackup, without editing the config 
file in 
/etc/ by hand.
