Actually, somehow this got spread across (at least) two threads (as these 
things sometimes seem to do !). i.e. So far this seems to have been fixed by 
member(s) of the community after a request was posted about a week or so ago 
by myself and one other.  *And* -> I have publicly thanked those involved in 
straightening this out.

So yeah, the community has done their part well in correcting this "lack of 
install" situation. I am more concerned about having to do this "fix for lack 
of install" stuff. I was, and still am, concerned that (some) package 
maintainers do not exhibit even this level of care. It indicates something 
being more than just a little wrong IMHO.

Um, there are some hosts exhibiting this behavior yes. This is more recent 
than the bad packages, and as I indicated earlier, I had to switch. Someone 
else has also mentioned this.
