Sorry, but it's behaving exactly as it did before the fix.  I tried this with
the userid where it had been working (until yesterday), first renaming
~/.gnome2/session to session-old.  I also tried it on a userid that had never
been logged in - went through the first-time wizard, turned off the Galaxy
window, logged out and logged in again, and got the same behavior.

It's baaaack.

After the first login for a user, the GNOME splashscreen in today's cooker does
not close, and covers anything behind it on the screen.

If you open a GNOME terminal window, the splashscreen closes.

The last icon to appear on the splashscreen is the MDK Galaxy one, but as I
unchecked the checkbox during the first login, I don't know whether it would
have already displayed or not.
