I know this is not a Mandrake issue, but Sun's Java, particularly the Java Web Start, is a small pain to get setup initially.
It requires a manual unzipping of the web start parts, and some additional setting of .so plug-in, and also browser mime-type. Maybe in one of the "configuration" thingies this can be addressed to one degree or another since although Sun didn't "nail it good", there is enough to grab ahold of and make work right in somewhat of an automated fashion "user friendlier". ?
