------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-10-08 18:31 ------- I have tried a different distro based on kernel-2.4.21 and the same happens there. Perhaps it is a kernel issue then? -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: NEW creation_date: description: During the expert install process the keyboard and mouse will stop functioning. I have a AMD Athlon XP System, with a VIA KT266A chipset which supports USB 1.0/1.1 I am using a USB Keyboard (Logitech Internet Navigator) and a USB Mouse (Microsoft Intellimouse Optical USB). I have chosen an expert install, English (British), USB mouse and UK Keyboard. The crash can and has happened at any point in the install. Looking at the logs after shutting down the X-server : usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame #1694 <4>usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout (of which there are several) I can usually continue installation by unplugging my USB keyboard and plugging it into the PS/2 port using an adapter - which I guess proves that USB dies. My mouse will not work however as I can't find the adapter ;) The timeout however above might be resulting in me unplugging the keyboard and sticking in the PS/2, of which I am not sure. The USB keyboard works fine with the text install oddly enough. However, the mouse is not used in this case. Perhaps it is bug in the kernel or the graphical installation, I am not sure. If I make it to the end of the install, and reboot, the USB keyboard/mouse work fine in the running linux system. I have noticed that USB devices also fail often when I goto the Mandrake Control Centre and do any kind of device detection. This has been a problem since Mandrake Linux 9.0/9.1 as well.
