Product: kernel

OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2

Mandrake Linux 9.2 Beta 2.
After many attepted installs, I keep having problems that seem network device
related.
Doing an 'ifconfig -a' or 'ifconfig lo' causes lockup of that shell. Can't
Ctrl-C it or kill -9 the ifconfig task.
Bootup shows eth0 being set up correctly, but upon shutdown, it stops on
shutting down eth0.
X refuses to start up, perhaps network related as well.
On one install, with many of the workstation packages installed, the bootup
stopped after 'xinitd'. I don't know what the next task was.
