i believe that NOT using wildcards, helps a lot people rebuilding packages. sometimes you don't realize that a package built on a system with xxx-devel is different than a packager where xxx-devel is not present.
BuildRequires is a better solution
yes, sorry, i was arguing that it is one more check of package sanity.
