------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-11-08 16:35 ------- The bug still exists in Mandrake Linux 9.2 beta 2. It seems that Harddrake detects SiS's built-in GPU type wrong. Hope you will fix the bug soon. -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: I have an Acer laptop computer whose model is 273xv. It uses SiS 650 motherboard and the motherboard has an internal GPU SiS 301. Now I am installing Mandrake Linux 9.1 beta 1, after copying all the packages and I begin to configure the X system. The DrakX recognize my SiS 650's GPU as SiS 650 (Vendor->SiS->650), and of course I thought it was all right and I clicked "test" but it gave me a "Fatal Error", and I tried to rechange the driver to "sis" (XFree 4->sis),which works very fine in my Mandrake 9.1. But it also gave me a "Fatal Error". So I had to reinstall Mandrake 9.2. Then it became the same step to configure X. This time I directly chose "XFree 4->sis", and to my surprise, after I clicked "Test", it worked well! I don't know why. Maybe this is a bug in DrakX.
