Summary: Usb mouse stops working after detection
           Product: Installation
           Version: 1.817
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: hardware
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have a USB intellimouse explorer 3.0
The mouse works fine when the installer starts up
When the mouse testing screen comes up, the mouse still works fine
When OK is clicked on the mouse testing screen, the mouse stops working

This problem is probably specific to this MS(POS) mouse, as it refuses to
accept USB addresses other than 1 (and, I think, 2). This has been the same in
other Mandrake installers, but I think it worked in a Mandrake 8.something
version (not sure). Presumably the installer looks at/reshuffles the USB device
addresses after confirming choice of mouse. The same thing also happens when
mousedrake is run, and sometimes when a USB mass storage device is attached &
removed. The 'real' bug here is, I think, in the kernel, but is triggered by an
action performed by the installer.
