Well... you could tell whether you'd got to the splash by how bright the wall facing the screen was. (-: We couldn't really use Ed Hurst's SuSE-chameleon-eating-MSN-butterfly as a splash here, but maybe we could do a Mandrake penguin drawing his wand back from the fading outline of an MS-Windows logo?
