------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-08-08 03:19 ------- this is really BAD idea. most of the ATA/RAID controllers even do not support ATAPI, they are ment for additional storage ie only for hard drives and name a CD or DVD that supports ATA133, the best shot are the new DVD-burners with ATA66, most of the CD/DVD drives are at max ATA33 and a big number of controllers doesn't play nice with ATA33 may be you should just swap your drives -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: Just installed 9.2beta2, detects the drives on the ATA133 controller as hda/hdb/hdc/hdd, and then the standard controller as hde/hdf/hdg/hgh. In Mandrake 9.0 they were detected the other way round (as they are in other distributions i've tried) didn't do a beta test of 9.1 so got caught with the problem of needing the extra bootdisks which detected it the same as 9.2beta2.
