Please, don't get them to change it back, it stuffs up permissions on existing home if you do new installations, you would now have to create a dummy user first ... Also, the fact that the reserved uid range is 100-499 doesn't mean we have to use 500 ... it might we wise to not change the previous functionality, users who follow the same steps on 9.1 and 9.2 will get different results ...
