Sure, I could try that. About time I put my money where my mouth is around
here!

A GDM theme includes:
  - a background (can be an SVG!)
  - 4 icons (Language selection, Session selection, Actions [shutdown,
restart, etc], and Quit [multiple logins])
  - a zone for welcome text, login boxes (solid colors, can use alphas)
  - a zone for the date/time

I could make a theme from Brant's (Fitzsimmons) and Tim's (Butler)
bootsplashes, but I'd need a version without any of the alpha'd boxes.

For example: a larger version of Tim's KDE splash screen, but with the
"Linux Mandrake" shifted up/down to give enough room for a login area would
be cool. Even better would be a separate background (svg or png) from the
logo (png). That way, I could stretch the background without distorting the
logo.

Otherwise, something like Brant's verbose bootsplash (but without progress
bar or alpha panel) would be great. That gives plenty of room for the login
area and icons. (Speaking of which, I'll see if I can't find ones suitable
for each but I'm no artist :)

Feel free to send images directly to me at my @matchbox.fr address, as well
as any info about alpha percentages, preferred colors, etc that you'd like
for me to use.

Hey, this should be fun!
