But perhaps it is safer because I think iso9660 can also mount some udf filesystems. Normally CDs are iso9660, and dvds udf, so that is ok. But I think "packet-written" cds are udf as well, and I have no clue if they work if they are mounted with iso9660. untill someone can test this well(hint!), it is perhaps best to leave it as it is now.
