Your 9.1 beta3 successfully detected the Matsusuita CD drive in my Sony Vaio
R505DL laptop, which has the CD drive in a docking station using a firewire
interface. The installation proceeded and completed without a hitch. Awesome!
But 9.1 RC1 does not detect it. Doh! What did you change? Could you put it
