I have this problem with Mandrake 9.2 RC 1 ("ESR value before enabling vector
00000002" and the installation hangs).
I have a DFI AD77 (with a KT400 chipset) motherboard. It seems that there is the
same problem with the K7VMM mainboard (see Bug 2618 and Bug 2943).
Same problem with Redhat 9, Debian, Knoppix (kernel problem).

The installation dont start vith a mothercard FDI AD77 in graphical modes; this
problem exist with mdk9.0 and mdk9.1.
In text mode, this message appears :"ESR value before enabling vector 00000002" .
