It was still valid in 2.4.22-1mdk, -2mdk hasn't arrived on my mirror yet, but
the changelog didn't show anything.
Please, it is very easy to fix this once and for all ...

Not all files in the kernel-source package are world-readable.
Some packages, such as kernel-win4lin (from Netraverse) build kernels by copying
the kernel-sources from the installed kernel-source package, and the build fails
since it cannot copy an entire kernel tree.
Please add a 'chmod -R a+r %{buildroot}/usr/src/linux*' or %defattr or
equivalent to the kernel spec file so this doesn't happen ...
