I have done a install by ftp.
First thing:
I have download the 2 iso. I have loop-mounted in Mandrake7.1 and
Mandrake7.1_ext. Later it fails because it tried to look in
Mandrake7.1/Mandrake/RPMS2 but it's impossible to do. Why not have copy the
hdlist in the second CD ? Please remember it and do it for the next
release.
- why proxy ftp must begin by ftp ? I know it's the fault of rpm which
can't use a squid proxy. Can you add this feature to rpm or use wget ?
- why proxy conf wasn't asked before ?
- during the hd config, can you place the useful type in first (like
reiserfs, ext2fs, swap).
- not all the description were translated. Where can I help to translate ?
After the install,
- adding mozilla-fonts doesn't add the entry in /etc/X11/fs/config
- why grpmi need kdesu ? Can you redo the same thing but in gtk ?
- I chose high security and I wasn't able to ssh myself because in
hosts.deny there was "except localhost" but my hostname was translate to
localhost.localdomain.
